The upscale Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts brand is owned by Carlson, a global privately owned hospitality and travel company, and is operated under an exclusive licence in Europe, Middle East and Africa by PPHE Hotel Group Limited.

The brand’s award-winning conference and meeting facilities are a very important part of their business. Most of the Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts in Europe were using the Word-based service within MICROS OPERA to create quotes for their corporate customers and although this worked well, they knew that a web-enabled service would make it easier for staff to create polished, attractive proposals that would improve the customer experience and communicate the stylish, modern aspects of their brand.

When MICROS announced the arrival of OPERA webProposal, Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts was keen to get involved and take advantage of the new service.

webProposal now allows the sales teams within each Park Plaza® hotel to follow a series of simple steps to create, distribute and manage meeting and conference proposals. Each sales person simply selects a template and automatically assembles a proposal by pulling up-to-the minute customer and contact information, room requirements, meeting space needs, catering specifications and other details, all taken directly from the OPERA Property Management System.

The proposal is then sent to the customer as a URL within an e-mail, which takes them to a stylish web page containing full details for their event. From there, the customer can also download a PDF of the proposal.

webProposal has delivered a whole range of benefits to Park Plaza® Hotels & Resorts, including:
